Update for anyone who cares. Found a Saber on Batlabs and after a bit of haggling and some WTF moments I got it for $350. Comes with a charger and a NOS Moto battery. I'll go with whatever venue the locals pick, but personally I'm all for sticking with what you know when it comes to hosting a group. Reasonably-priced is always good, but isn't the entire Richardson/Plano area pretty much synonymous with expensive anyway? :baby:

Why do hammies feel the need to label their repeaters? Putting the callsign, input/output freqencies, and the pl on the front of the repeater is just gay. It works without any problems! We have such a ham repeater here (RX Motorola GM900 / TX Motorola GM950). It works in analog, in P25 and D-Star. Of course a true digital repeater would be better, but for the price of this setup it performs quite well. What do you do to keep out QRM/QRN? Just wonderi...
