I just sold a 2 year old IC-91AD and upgraded to an IC-92AD. It's a quality radio and is easily programmable from the FP, although the realtime environment with the RS-92 software is great.

Saw many on the belts of Motosexuals at Austin Summerfest ! :baby:

Tim, et al, The primary driver is the need (now federal mandate) for spectrum efficiency. A legacy wide voice FM channel in the Part 90 space is replaced by 2 narrowband channels. Narrowband analog FM voice (11K0F3E) has acceptable Q of S especially when companded, but still doesn't have the *punch*...

The DStar ethernet bridges are easily overrun with extraneous packets from the WAN side so I recommend that if you are going to connect them to pass Internet data that you NAT the Internet side with some kind of router.
