Mine came in the mail yesterday for my 10 year old son whom just recived his ticket.I was going to keep it for myself and give him my ugly old Icom Sport. Nice radio at a good price,Infact when I was useing it tonight I had no intermod problems unlike the sport.

One more note, I wish they had a Mic connector on the control head,like the 706. I made a home brew cable and still run it mobile with no problems. :baby:

Ok, So am I the only one with intermod problems on VHF?

HF works great 100 watt with a sm-8 mic sound like God.

But them dam birdies on VHF..............


HF I give it a 9

VHF/UHF I'd say strong 8

Unit gets warm!! after a good 1/2 hour rag chew

Well Lenny, Other then the Modified Scooter Slob,it went really good. Talked with a pal on 80 meter last night and last count was over 850 tickets sold!! One of the biggest yet. Saw allot of overpriced junk(typical as you well know) Nose plugs could have helped,but it did smell like old musty radio ...
