This may have been posted elsewhere, but has anyone heard of the OP25 project and the use of
the RTL2832 for use as a software defined receiver for P25?
Neat stuff..

FYI, the 2832 dongles can be had on Ebay for around 20.00 (US)

As far as I know , the answer would be no. I have had a strange thing happen with a AS3 I had once. It had a DES-XL module in it. I had infinite key retention enabled but never, ever loaded a key in the radio. One day after swapping batterys I somehow got the conentric switch flipped to secure and ...

He was running an EFJ and I was running a 3K with DSP 08.02.02 Nice to finally have a "real" P25 repeater in the area. Maybe ...

I'm puzzled by the fact that an agency like the RCMP can't or won't update the firmware in their radios?? What exactly is the deal with them?
Do they just occasionally buy radios, issue them and then forget about them until they die? I would think if there was any agency that would have the funds ...

Re: Passively scanning Astro25 trunking systems
Firstly, please no bullshit, save it for someone who gives a damn..I am asking a purely technical question for the sake of curiousity...
The province here has finally put out thier Request for proposals on a new radio system...
The system is going to be trunked, P25 compliant, which I assume they ...

Well its not a problem, just wondered if its normal.
