Dude... You could donate the second one for the Southeast Hamsexy Infiltration Team. (We're the SHIT ya know!) I've got a place for it at 250ft+ at the top of my office building. It should cover for all of us hamsexuals down in the upstate and since 3/4's of us are now P25 sexy, we need a P25 repeat...

Hey John, The value of alignment can't be undermined. It's the most important contributing factor (besides having recent firmware) to astro performance. You don't require the test-jig btw. Just a programming cable, SMA->BNC adapter, and a service monitor. You will adjust the oscillator warp (tx fre...

I got it from w4wtf but, other than that, I don't know exactly where the radio came from. I don't think it's a whore-flashed AS2 though. The other WTF can answer that though.

OK. So a nice clean RF environment is important here.

What is your experience with yours? Does it TX a lot on garbage or is it OK?

It works without any problems! We have such a ham repeater here (RX Motorola GM900 / TX Motorola GM950). It works in analog, in P25 and D-Star. Of course a true digital repeater would be better, but for the price of this setup it performs quite well. What do you do to keep out QRM/QRN? Just wonderi...

I haven't aligned it. I don't have a service monitor, let alone the alignment jig. Heck, I don't even have an AS programming cable. :) I found a mode that was IMBE, hit the PTT and then read the TX freq on my freq counter. I programmed the EFJ up for RX on that freq. That's all of the testing I've d...

I just tried it with about 25yds of separation between the radios and I've still got intermittant decode on the Johnson. It's rythmic. A second (maybe shorter) of decode followed by a pop of sorts and then decode again. It does the same thing if I switch to secure on the AS2 only the decoded audio i...

P25 decode problem on AS2?

Do I have a problem with my new AS2? I a Johnson 5100 and an AS2 VHF this weekend. I don't have the programming cable for the AS2 but, using my freq counter, I was able to determine the TX freq of one of the modes strapped for P25. I programmed that into the 5100 (yeah... FPP baby!) and set the RX N...

VoIP from Jaffair, Bahrain

Well folks, my buddy is in Jaffair, Kindom of Bahrain. He's one of those former spook types... Go figure. Anyway, I give him a call the other day - not knowing he was out of country - and after I dial, I get lots of white noise and then the "buuurp buuurp" ring of an overseas telephone swi...

This is what I use... Relay,Wide3-3,Relay,Wide7-7,Relay,Wide7-7

I can't figure out why we have so much congestion on 144.39?
:anus:

Seriously though, I use relay,wide3-3 and it works just fine.
