Let's see...

Old crack.
Yellow crack.
Semi-retarded-little-brother crack.
Needs-a-black-label crack.
Undercover crack.

I was never a young nerd, only a young geek. I didn't have a Pinto to pimp. But I did have a 'puter.

Re: Encryption on P25

ADP software crypto is a feature only on the Astro25 line. So, no ADP software crypto for you.

Looks like a TRBO, smells like a TRBO... would suspect a TRBO charger would work, but YMMV...

Re: P25 repeaters

Yeah, but it's some **REALLY** cool shit. We've got an 800MHz Daniels repeater on the OASIS trailer, and all of the NIFC repeaters-in-a-box are Daniels. The Aviation links are the coolest, though. There's 2 fully agile AM transcievers, and a dual mode analog/digital UHF-Lo repeater. They're powered...

Re: Spectra plus crypto board in a Saber?

I don't believe AS+ and regular Astro Spectra/Astro Saber crypto modules can be interchanged, an AS+ essentially being a slightly newer generation of radio.

Check your PM's.

I would presume as long as the radio had the software based ADP option enabled in the flashcode, that it would function on the AS+ just as with any other Astro25 radio.

Multipler sells no less than 6 variants of the MX300 battery pack... doesn't seem to hard to get to me. If anyone wants one, let me know... I can probably order one for you through Tessco. And if Terry can't, I can drive up the road to Tessco and pick them up and ship them. And if neider of dem can...

I think if I bought one, I'd just add a display to one or two banks. I must be a cheap dude *shrug* It's what I did. I only have 4 impres batteries that I cycle on one radio (and they're super cap so I only cycle them once a week at the most). Will eventually trick all slots out w/ displays as fund...

A WPLN4130A (rack charger w/ displays already installed) from the Motoroler will set you back 1350USD at list. Presuming these things work, they're a real bargin. Figure 275USD including shipping, plus 6 displays at list (95USD) is only 845USD total for a fully loaded impres rack charger - not bad a...

Ideally, you can recreate the simplex range of the radios, through the repeater... I don't grok that. Are you talking about dynamic response, or distance? I'm talking about range... OK, so you're talking about distance. I've never played with one of these back to back maxtrac jobs, did you mean it ...

Considering that in the U.S. Motorola has a trademark on the word "Astro" as it applies to digital radios, I wonder how long it is until a Motorola lawyer comes knocking on his door.
