I had a factory 220 GP300 at one time but sold it because I never used it. Looking to get back into it (of course) and I'm really digging the Alinco DJ-296. I was there last year and the guy running the spark-gap put on a good show. I also Picked up some Midland UHF gain antennas for $2 a pop new-in-bag.

Our club's running an 8A (or 9A?) station. Spent the morning helping them set up. My group (20 SSB) is running a Sigma 5 vertical this year for a change. It seemed to hear okay when I tested it earlier.

Buddy of mine has one and really likes it.

It's the replacement for the TS-50 but I personally think it's in a totally different league.

My experience with hamfests is that all the good stuff is gone within the first half hour of opening. What's left tends to be overpriced and/or crap.

Hey, congrats Bob! Like the call too. :halfnotworthy: Got a chance to meet SXY as well. Lots of people rumaging about. Not sure how it compared to previous years but it seemed like a success. The spark transmitter they had operating was pretty cool but it sure threw out a lot of hash, even hooked up...
