My Echolink Node is on the air

I would appreciate it if people here would try to connect to it tonight so I can see how well it's working before tomorrow night's net.

KC2OSF-L 438.575 Mhz

Node #299129

I'll have my HT on and listening.

Dammit. I have other plans. If I'd have remembered, I would have made the trek.

I thought the Ch. 16 allocation was a NYC-only thing? Hell, if there were additional UHF spectrum allocated here, the volunteer fire departments would be on it like white on rice. I dunno... but when I lived way out in Central Jersey, 16 was gone from the TV lineup out there... but that's likely be...

Don't be in a rush. I have it on good authority that if it happens it won't be fully implemented for 10 years by the time it's all said and done. That is if they do something from basically scratch. Plus there is a rumor floating about that NYC will sign onto SWiN... so we'll see. Isn't Statewide O...

Yep. P25 is the $hit. After I made my first QSO with Seth at Timonium, I'm hooked.

Crystal clear audio. The best I've heard in ham radio ever.

Seth remind me to send you a QSL card... :baby:

This XTS won't have a DES-XL key for it... I'm on the hunt for one.

Ah well.

You look quite hamsexy.

2 things:

1. Nice to see some good design on a ham page. That spalsh screen is top-notch.

2. Thank God they haven't invented smell-ternet... I could just imagine the aroma of that crowd!

IMHO, that mic sucks. I have one. It's so sealed up, you sound like you're talking underwater while using it.

The 1000 channels on the 170 is an error... I think it's somewhere in the 200's. But yes, I tell you: spend the extra 20 bucks at HRO and get the 170 over the 150. Bigger cap battery, NiMH instead of NiCd, too. Nicer heft and rock-solid. Big, bright screen. I'll recommend this radio to anyone lookin...

It was a lot smaller and crappier than last year, but I did manage to snap a couple pics with my camera phone... so they're 640x480, nothing super....

There were only a couple of hamsexuals present; all in all, it was pretty B.O. free.

And not a scooter to be seen.
