This is what I use... Relay,Wide3-3,Relay,Wide7-7,Relay,Wide7-7 I can't figure out why we have so much congestion on 144.39? :anus: Seriously though, I use relay,wide3-3 and it works just fine. Actually.. You should drop the relay out of your digi path. It's redundant. Wide 3-3 will get you 3 hops ...

And the fest wasn't too bad. Anything that was worth buyi...

Well, that was a giant waste of 45 minutes, My friend Jim and I drove 3 and a half hours up to check it out. Very dissappointing. Rochester used to be a decent fest. This year was very empty. I am actually surprised no to see my car submitted as a whacker-mobile on here though. Besides the Astro Va...

My bad. I thought you were talking about the Elmira one in August. I am off on the 6th, and was going to drag the wife along if she isn't having a day of "squeeze the baby" with our nephew.

So the big question is are you gonna come see me in Owego ? I can't pass up going there, it's so close to home, it probably is the closest fest I get to excluding my own clubs fest. It is on my calendar... and I will most likely put in for time off after I get back from Dayton to make sure I am goi...

PJ and I made the trek in the pouring rain this morning. I will say that the fest was almost a waste of $12 for admission for both of us. The following are the only pictures I was able to get. All I had was my phone, and I left my regular camera in the car. ARRL Hudson Division Director Frank Fallon...

Don't be in a rush.

I have it on good authority that if it happens it won't be fully implemented for 10 years by the time it's all said and done. That is if they do something from basically scratch. Plus there is a rumor floating about that NYC will sign onto SWiN... so we'll see.

My bad... I miscounted, but I confirmed it to be sure. Put a jumper between pins 20 and 22. This will power the radio for programming.

Yes you can power up the radio that way. All I did was take a DB25 male connector, soldered a jumper between 21 and 22, add a hood and there you have it.

Actually the Astro series doesn't store channel names in the control head a la Analog Spectra and Syntor 9000. It's not really a short... you are putting in a jumper from a power source into a pin that reads power and turns the radio "on" logically. It will revert to it's home mode and ope...

I submited pix to Bryan over PM... there weren't many usable pictures and I had missed the jazzy and the ramps.

I enjoyed myself. I got rid of some extra "stuff" and put a little cash in my pocket in the process.
