You'd let Cowthief take your anal virginity for a 1600 and you know it. As to what you'd do for a 3900.... Bah. I had the opportunity to buy a 1900 - took the 8921 instead. The buffering when using the spec-an/TG sucks on the 1600s, 1900s, and even the 2975s. It's way too long. The 8921 shows chang...

DSTAR uses AMBE2020, licensed from DVSI. ProVoice uses IMBE, licensed from DVSI as well... they simply used a different air interface from typical P25. Yes, there has been talk of a commercial version of DSTAR for public safety, including end-to-end encryption and all the fun stuff. Personally, I do...

Re: Mr Fuck head
I hope he sues hamsexy for libel for posting it and the ignorant fool for slander who posted it and you in a civil court for defending it; have you no decency or modicum? There is legal precedence for this type of case in which the forum owners and moderators have lost and if he wanted to sue you, ...

Anybody want to licwnse the AMBE202 and the IMBE vocoders from DVSI and work them into the same radio?? D-Star and P-25 sexy.... The next phase of APCO P25 is likely going to end up with AMBE for a codec. Unfortunately, D-STAR uses GMSK rather than FSK or QPSK-C... you'd have to do some significant...

The low-speed data featured on the ID800 is a 1200N,8,1 serial stream. As I understand it, you plug a DB9 in on each end and away you go. Note that there IS NO ERROR CORRECTION on the serial data. If you want FEC/CRC, you'll have to do it yourself. Otherwise, it's just a wire. Shove whatever you wan...

Did anyone work W5R or N5R? W5R was a 3A station on 10/15/20/40/80/160 at various times... from the dining hall of the Texas State Railroad. We were running two IC-756PRO3s + dipole/vertical, one IC-7800/SteppIR (pimpin!), an IC-910 (satellite), and another 756PRO3 for GOTA. N5R was a 2C station &qu...

Re: HamCom 2006: June 9-10, Plano TX
Friday works for me cuz I'm back at the station on Saturday morning. I could attempt to take T174 to Hamcom on Saturday but I would have a hard time convincing anyone else to go. Probably not a good idea. You'd end up with a bunch of strange, sticky white splotches on it, and a massive hamfunk smel...

I'll be there. For comms, let's use the Hamsexy standards: 146.495 67.0/IMBE (NAC 293) 446.495 67.0/IMBE (NAC 293) If you want to play crypto, let's use Batlabs Green: 151.880 DPL143/IMBE, DES-OFB. PM me for the key. I'll have them all up in scan in the 5000s. For wide-coverage comms, let's use 442....

Re: Fight fest 2006
There is usually always a good fight or 2 in the fleamarket area. Either when the salt rotted vans from up north come down and want to put an 8 ft tall van in a 7 ft overhead. About 3 years ago there was a big knock down drag out when one of the hamtards wouldn't let another hamtard out in front of...
