Okay, now for the real-world answer: I have personally seen an Astro Spectra attempt to decode two simultaneous P25 conventional transmissions with identical NACs. The end result was.. bizarre. You could tell two people were talking, and pick out parts of both transmissions, but the overall effect w...

This is just the run of the mill 3600 baud Smartnet system... Again, a 3600 baud CC and single-site operation does not necessarily equate to Smartnet. Find out what kind of controller setup they have.. if it's MTR2000s, MSF5000s, or Micors and a 6809 controller, it's probably Smartnet. If it's Quan...

I DLed it, twice. I don't care enough to read a bunch of shit that I have no use for. It was just a simple question..... If experience has taught me anything, it's that what you don't find useful today you might find useful tomorrow. Just saying. :) Anywho, long story short, the Astro line comprise...

P-25 may be cost prohibitive but D-Star is drop prohibitive.....Plus P-25 is inter-operable with public safety agencies.... P-25 is no more interoperable than analog, D-Star, or my left nut. I was under the impression that they sent all their old VSELP 512K Sabers to the crusher and bought all-new when they went IMBE in 2000 or thereabouts. If that's the case, then the current state of things is especially fucked-up. Of course, even if they did buy a complete new fleet it'll be lather-r...

IMBE will work with a 512K board. As of host R04.xx.xx and DSP 06.xx.xx the firmware supports IMBE. the suck factor is a 512K board won't go above R05.60.04 / DSP 06.05.02 (or DSP 8 if you're a hax0r) because of size limitations. Personally I won't use firmware that old because of the audio suck fa...

Or you could just quit dicking with Smartzone altogether, and use AMSS with a 38-channel CC list. To do this, you set coverage type to Smartzone, then go into the control channel screen and add as many as it'll let you. When done, go back and set the coverage type to AMSS and the full list will stil...

Where I live, CIMA runs in the 488MHz range. Try getting 440 IMBE and that out of a radio. My low split AS3 will receive up there ( AFP ), but it's a bit deaf, and won't lock very far above that. Already tried on two different R-split 3000s. FAIL 001. After Houston goes 700 Astro25, there'll be ple...

Yeah, getting UHF radios is usually a stinker for me. At the same time I need 440 ham, but on the other hand, our local Police just-so-happen to use frequencies on 470-471 frequencies. :anus: Pfft, a R-split radio will do that with ease. So will a range 2 UHF Astro Spectra. Where I live, CIMA runs ...

Few quick 'n easy things to remember: -First digit of the flashcode is either 1 or 5. -Minimum HOST version 05.xx -Minimum DSP version N06.xx (The N letter is critical. If it's A, it's analog-only.) If the seller can't provide you with the above information, move on. The HOST/DSP versions are the mi...

I also get KEY FAIL which I kinda was expecting. Once I get some software sorted I'll have a look at the codeplug and um, see what else was programmed in... :anus: I saved all the codeplugs from all the surplus stuff I got.
