No not gone forever, just for this year. After we got fu&ked by the fairgrounds on parking at the last minute last year, that pretty much sealed the deal on not going back. That little last minute "oh by the way" cost us about $1200 in real money(didn't make enough to cover the bills) ...

I believe its based on programming software. Astro saber, XTS3k, Astro Spectra and I pretty sure xts3500 are Astro Line. Astro 25 are xts5k, 2.5k,1.5k, sse5000, astro spectra plus, xtl series, plus pm1500, pr1500, mt1500, etc. See what Josh said above with one change, it is not based on programming...

On a side note...ICOMs D-Star expansion board for the hammy portables and the P25 expansion board for the commercial portables "appear" to be of the same layout and size. I wonder how hard it would be to hax0r the D-Star ROS and put a P25 board in a 91D and have P25 hammy rig??? Just thin...

DSTAR is for amateur use - no encryption capabilities. I thought it was some big fancy commercial standard used in Asia? Right now it is Amateur only, but apparently the Japanese Govt is looking into using it as their form of P25 and making more robust. If you think about it, it's just another voco...
