Have you checked codeplugsupersite.com? I thought you were taking the piss until I checked it out :baby: Jeffs right, no Speccy plugs. Doesn't matter what band, model, or whatever... I mean Portable CPS and mobile CPS aren't going to be much different are they, but I wouldn't mind having a play. (W...

OK, fine, let's just let every script kiddie in the neighborhood on our wifi network. See my remark about three posts up that pertains to HSMM (Amateur Radio WiFi) Do you have a cite to support that? Not an unresaonable request/question. I saved one about this somewhere on my hard drive. Once I fin...

I know AMBE is backwards compatible with IMBE Got a cite on this? I thought they were incompatible No, they are quite compatible in the sense that an AMBE codec can encode and decode IMBE data. Now an IMBE codec cannot handle AMBE data. How do I know? I (or rather my employer) *AM* an AMBE licensee...

The vocoder isn't a problem, you can buy a DSP preloaded with IMBE from DVSI for about $20 a pop. Drop it on a board with a serial codec and you're laughing. Negative ghost rider...Any plain jane hobbiest cannot get their hands on the IMBE codec info. Per DVSI it is the firmware CODE for the codec ...

I believe its based on programming software. Astro saber, XTS3k, Astro Spectra and I pretty sure xts3500 are Astro Line. Astro 25 are xts5k, 2.5k,1.5k, sse5000, astro spectra plus, xtl series, plus pm1500, pr1500, mt1500, etc. See what Josh said above with one change, it is not based on programming...

DSTAR is for amateur use - no encryption capabilities. I thought it was some big fancy commercial standard used in Asia? Right now it is Amateur only, but apparently the Japanese Govt is looking into using it as their form of P25 and making more robust. If you think about it, it's just another voco...
