Ummmm...That's great, but is the rest of the system D-Star or just the one receiver?

If he doesn't have a D-star tranmitter as well, then what is the use.

If on the other hand it is the entire repeater tied into the rest of his repeaters, then I see...

i was thinking... that 455' tower in waldorf would be a perfect location. if we could get ia VHF antenna to about 350', it would cover about 6 counties! right now it only has charles county systems on it. plenty of room! how likely is American Tower to donate space? Its not likely they are holding ...

we've got a system coming to DC area as well. The Arlington(VA) arc is putting one up in the next year or so. I'm not sure if the Red Cross is going to do one or not from their national headquarters. DB This is actually being done by the guys that volunteer over at the Red Cross. All private funds....

The way the repeaters/controllers are configured, you'll likely never see a "DIU" for the DSTAR repeaters. I didn't ask how it works for the "digital" data repeaters we used. But it would seem to me that if the controller can pass the data, why not digital voice?? BTW, the digit...

i may just go on travelocity Then use Gaithersburg, MD as a starting reference. Other possibilites are Germantown, MD and Rockville, MD. That pretty much covers the entire populated length of I-270 in Montgomery County MD. All within about 5-10 minutes from the hamfest. BTW, hamfest location is abo...
