Re: A little help for an astro n00b
Being that your radio has both trunking and FPP, you'll probably not want to touch it with anything newer than Astro25 CPS R09.xx or you run the risk of losing FPP capability. Now, in the past this was applicable to radios with trunking and only Q52. Honestly, yours is the first I've seen to have Q...

The dude with the military pole kits is from Maryland. He bid on and won several lots a year or so ago and did not realize that he was bidding on pallets and not bags. Big difference between 24 bags and 24 pallets.... Yeah, there's people who actually modify the pole kits as portable antenna masts ...

Re: IC-92AD and OFs
I've played around with an IC-V82 with the D-STAR board installed and I wasn't that impressed with the audio quality of AMBE over IMBE. Maybe its Icom's own AMBE implementation, but it sounds way more like RealAudio 1.0 on a 28.8k modem. I know IMBE (at least in P25) can sound like that sometimes b...

$2600 to $4000 is what a used Quantar typically goes for, sometimes more. I'm not sure what it would be over on your side of the pond, save shipping from here. I don't know where your looking but typical range for a Quantar has been $1200 - $2500 for the last several sold on EBay depending on UHF o...

If I remember 100%, D-chat lets you send text between computers using the d-star radios as modems. That being said, there are quite a few things being introduced since I saw that demo last summer. You are correct, think of it as your own personal chat line for amateurs. If your buddy has D-Star and...

Saw the hardline too, but wasn't sure what I'd do with it. :) The tailgate was slim (probably due to the heat), but the indoors spaces were mostly sold out, so we did well there. I bought 150' 300ohm window line and misc bits and pieces for various needs. The rest of the time, I was running around ...

You talking 'bout the dude that hauls a good couple dozen or so of used DBs/Station Masters and sells em for $25? Man I wish I jumped on a VHF one but no way was I fitting that shit in my car. Do like a friend of mine did, sling it under the car and tied it to the bottom of the front and rear bumper.

Unlike PolarRescue, you didn't describe any vehicle or anything, so to find you would be difficult at best. And while Polar said to look for the red trailer, there were 3 in the cow palace. I asked about an Hamsexy price on an item at one red trailer, and was told it would probably cost me more. So...
