Bingo.

It's the same reason none of the :ham: companies make 33cm (902-928 MHz) gear. It's a USA-only band.

I forgot to mention another bit of amusement. KC8UTI and I were using a simplex freq with IMBE. It turns out, we were sharing the frequency with some hammies using CSQ analog, from what I heard with mixed mode. You would think we could share a freqency and get along, right? Nope. They kept complaini...

15 lookers, but no talkers.

A HamSexy meetup at a place of food and/or drink could happen, too, if demand is present.

Toledo Hamfest March 18th 2007

OK, who else will be there. I'm trying to nudge a local hamsexual to come along, but we'll see.

I've already requested the day off at work, so I'm going.

It looks like a big hamfest, from the pictures on their website.

KC8RYW simplex node 4018 is up! Try calling me!

I have the computer setup. It wasn't hard at all. Now, all I need to run a line from the busy LED on the front to drive the COS. I found the transistor I need to take it from, but I need to work up the courage to deal with soldering into SMD. Motorola wasn't cool enough to add I/O to the GTX mobile....

But I don't see it happening anytime soon. There isn't an Echolink or IRLP node for 50 miles. We still have repeaters running CSQ. qrzmoderator

Speaking of APCO25, I asked a Icom vendor why D-star instead of APCO25. He said all APCO25 radios have to pay a royalty to Motorola, but a Motorola guy said that is false. APCO25 is a standard (the moto guy asked, "did a M/A-COM guy say that?"). I also heard APCO25 not only specifys digit...

I'll have to remember to attend the Marshall Hamfest next year.

The only ham swaps I've been to in Michigan are Chelsea one (which was OK, I guess)... the Jackson one (which sucked) and the Livonia ARC one (which sucked too.)
