Can a a 450 to 520 MHz Astro Saber and/or XTS3K be programmed into the amateur band directly w/o any hex editing? Obviously, the 403 to 470 MHz , and I want to be sure before I spend my money.

Pfft, a R-split radio will do that with ease. So will a range 2 UHF Astro Spectra.
Where I live, CIMA runs in the 488MHz range. Try getting 440 IMBE and that out of a radio.
And the sign says you got to have a membership card to get inside.

If you have Astros and Jedis, wtf do you need Warises for?

Thanks for all the input. I will take all the info into account with decision process.
Basically, the R split radio will do for my needs. BUT, I travel to a "T Band" area on occasion and would need to have something that would work in the 480 MHz and 503 MHz ranges.
