Jesus Shaun... absolutely amazing job! I'm about halfway through it and I'm already very impressed.
It was absolutely worth the wait!!

Page 4, last paragraph:
"Digital Voice Systems Inc.’s Improved Multi-Band Excitation (IMBE™) codec was chosen..."
Since you reference DVSI as an acronym after this, you should rewrite the above statement as:
"Digital Voice Systems Inc.’s (DVSI) Improved Multi-Band Excitation (IMBE™) codec was chosen..."
Nitpicking, yes, but just making it more accurate, as far as technical writing goes.
Page 5:
"and has separate vocoder (Voice-coder/decoder) and controller PC boards, whereas the ASTRO Digital Saber™ and ASTRO Digital Spectra™ share a common vocon (Vocoder-controller) board."
You bolded vocon (Vocoder-controller), but did not bold "vocoder (Voice-coder/decoder)"

Thanks. I'll put it on my list of things-to-fix in the next maintenance release. (haha I sound like I'm talking about firmware)
No problem, I'm going to make a file for you with slight grammar/wording changes, referenced by page number. I'll email the whole thing to you when I'm done.

Very nice work ! It has got me off my ass to make up a guide like yours but to cover the Macom product line. Such as the Orion, P7100 and M7100 since there is not much info out there that is correct. Your guide has cleared up a lot of the questions I had about the Astro product line. thanks again.

Nice work r0f.
One thing - XTS3k firmware 7.22.01 will work with the new LCD's (as tested by myself and KB9KST) The guide says 7.23.00 is needed. Interestingly the FSB/SRN says 7.23.00 is needed but actual testing shows the /\/\ supplied info to be wrong.
Cheers,
Matt

Actually, there are three posts, so a true three round burst. Shawn jumped in between some of them though, good thing he ducked

I agree, when a mod sees this he'll clean up the three round burst and go ahead and delete my posts as well, might as well keep this thread looking nice and neat since we have the RR crowd looking at this as well

Shaun, it's just been posted on Radio Reference by "Great Lakes". They've posted the download site and a link to HS.

The downloaded the file and posted it to the files section in all its completeness.
And it was a reverse triple tap...One to the head two to the chest...

Come on Ray Ray, first rule on the interweb is multiple backups, something as easy as e-mailing yourself a copy on yahoo mail (so it's stored off your computer) works well.
Let me find my copy, PM me a working e-mail address.

I forwarded a copy to the FBI and the NSA and the CIA, you can probably get it out of them with a FOIA request
I'd hit it so hard you'd have to be to King of England to pull me out
