hex editing astro25 cps

Post by KC9UZB »

My spectra plus is a "Q" split which in theory should go up to at least 438... or not in this case. CPS won't let me enter a freq above 433.

I tried following the instructions here:
http://www.batlabs.com/wincps.html

but to no avail.

Has anyone sucessfully edited astro25 mobile cps to expand the band limits?

I'm not asking for spoonfeeding, just some nudges in the right direction would be great :baby:

many thanks,
Dave ftw.

Nevermind.

I got it worked out, no thanks to the batlabs page. Hex workshop has probably been changed since that guide was written.

If anyone cares I can upload screens or instructions on how to do it... if you're as dumb as me.

Oh come on. This isn't shooting fish in a barrel, this is dropping a tactical nuke on a bucket full of carp.

Thanks :p

Though it looks a little easier to do in Hex Workshop tbh.

I've sent JLX some screenshots which he can host if he wants... I might even write some HTML to do wit hthem if I can be bothered. xD

Well, the basic instructions, at least, are still correct. What's changed among the various CPS revisions is the offset locations of the tables. Once I got my brain wrapped around that, modding went just fine.
And the sign says you got to have a membership card to get inside.

Mmm, yeah I'm not blaming the batlabs page, its quite out of date, and it assumes the reader has the same working knowledge of the hex editor program as the author, which if you've never played around with one before isn't good.

Anyway, I got it working... I'll up the screens I took somewhere if it will help anyone.

Hey guys -

If you have suggestions on how to change, re-word, or otherwise fix something on http://www.batlabs.com - Here's what I've told people on the batboard - same goes for any of you.

Take the whole HTML page, not just the section that needs updating. Correct what problems there are - and email it to alex ( aaaa tttt ) batlabs.com and I will forward it to get it fixed.

So far only 1 person who has complained about something be wrong, confusing, or otherwise problematic has taken the time to fix a whole page... Tom, I need to talk with you tonight about your fix, but I'll work with you on what I want so that way we can make sure it's incorporated.

I'll try and help get it fixed for sure - but I can only go so far. If you adjust the WHOLE page, it's a quick replace on the server for him to do, which seems to be something he can make quick time for.

I'll help however I can...

No worries at all - last time it took less than 24 hrs for an updated page to get posted, so we'll see how it works this time.

Offer is open to anyone.
