Belton TX HamEXPO - April 14th

Post by Victor Xray »

http://www.tarc.org/hamexpo/

Saturday April 14th
Expo center in Belton, Texas
Doors open at 7am
Admission $2 at the door

Good little hamfest. I've picked up lots of good deals in the past. It's been a couple years since my last appearance, but I should be there next month.

Anyone else going?

Change of plans. Dad's coming to town from NE. I'm having back surgery on the 16th so he's gonna hang out here with me. Don't think I'll drag the old man to a hamfest. :baby:

Yup, I'll be there with bloodshot eyes (leaving home around 4am). I'm bringing a friend, who hopefully screams loud when I drift into oncoming lanes.

Yah, I'll bring your antennae too. No bitching on their condition since they're free

I'm gone tonight. VX, catch you on BW2 again?

I'll also be on 462.575 talking to a non-ham buddy, and scanning BW1, .52, and 446.0.

Well, that was fun. We drove through hell to get there, froze our balls off that morning, and there was no good gear to be had. At least there wasn't much of a wacker quotient, just the usual OF mob turnout.

Thanks for the ducks, VX. They will be getting put to good use. :mjban:

:soap:
Yah, what a waste. Row after row of scrap metal and rusty old junk. I even saw a burned-up $5 RadioShack soldering iron on someone's table, with a pricetag of $1. I sold a total of $16 :cheeseandwhine: of my stuff and didn't make one single purchase. First time ever I didn't buy anything at Belton.

Hope we have better luck at Hamcom.

But, it was good to see some friendly faces, like your ugly mug, and Microwave Mike, and Jeff Walsh (John Wayne from the Batboard). Even got to meet Phrawg, who's a really nice guy.

You'll see the fine selection of JUNK I was ranting about.
