I Have one and I love it.
The menu driven functions are easier to navigate that the Icom 705 MKIIG.
DSP filters are good. I have no complaints.
Yes the multcolor display is very helpful.

The "D" coms with 60M and DSP filter.

I've run 857s and 706s in all their variations and I don't care for them. The Yaesu FT-100D is the one I keep going back to every time I consider going mobile. Less intermod, best DSP, best TX audio, and highest marks for user-friendliness as the menu is purely intuitive after 15 minutes in the manual.
