fully compatible with the xts5000

my only complaint was that the caller id is in hex, and I couldn't find a setting for digital carrier squelch

Don't quote me on it, but I think the 929 is the radio NYPD is going to be using instead of Motorola. After all these years, the Sabers are finally being retired.

Awesome news Seth! I was waiting for someone to get their hands on it and let us know A) if it worked and B) what they thought.

Can't wait till the aftermarket for those starts to hit.

They still like $3K per radio?

from what i understand from my buddy in nyc who is an ems they have already deployed vertex radios, and they are utter crap. knobs falling off after 2 weeks in the field? supposedly there are now differing definitions of what constitutes the "lifetime" in lifetime warranty

you get what you pay for

Under $1k for the 48 chan model I, under $1250 for the full keypad, 512ch.

Now my only question remains, if you add the crossband RX module do you get IMBE RX on both bands, or only the primary band?

A lodge brother I know is a NYPS detective and has been using one for quite some time. He loves it...small, lightweight, rugged, long battery life.

They look like fairly decent radios, that's for sure.

I wonder just how submersible they really are...
