FCC Report and Order

Post by wb4bsd »

Take a look.

Looks like we will be able to use 2mtr as a link freq for IRLP nodes and Echolink nodes.

Heres the pdf.

Interesting changes.

I'd never heard of the restrictions on 33 cm in Wyoming and Colorado. Anyone know why?

Yeah, I read this yesterday and am very happy to hear this.

Now that I moved out of the city, putting up my echolink node on 440 didn't make any sense.

Now I can put it up on 2m.

900 Mhz is used for Missile Self distruct commands.
I believe the concern was that due to the number of ICBM's in those areas, if one needed to be called off, the interference might keep them from doing that.

Well since this came back,

900 mhz can't be used just south of Albuquerque, NM (I think it's 50 miles or so) due to White sands missile range. I seem to recall that even in the Albuquerque area, transmitter power on 900 mhz is limited to 50 watts. I guess they don't take kindly to interference issues!

Interesting. Are these regional restrictions limited to 902-928 or the entire 900 band?

What ever happened to auxiliary on 2 meters?

I just ID the RoIP radio on 2 meters as a repeater station, to use 2 meters and to cover my rear with regards to "content" repeated.
