The "bad displays" are nowhere as widespread as some on RR claim. I've had one running for a year and a half without any issues.

01A06 I also had a 09A05 (the "bad" datecode) and it ran fine as well when I tested it. I traded it to someone as I didn't need two, and that one was the 2nd one I got.

I have two of em mainly for the signal stalker or whatever you call it.

I hate the squelch. There's not padding there at all. They go in to a wild squelch flutter attack at the edge of a signal fade and the overall RX sensitivity doesn't seem that hot to me. But, for the $$ and features they are still pretty decent.

What blows my mind is the PSR500. That damn thing is the closest to a commercial rig that I've found so far. I tested it against the MR-K on an 800 Edacs system. There was barely an audible difference between the two on a barely receivable system 50 miles away. None of the other radios in the house knew it was there. I can't wait to grab one of the 600 base units.

Apologies to all for the temporary thread hijack...

---
Casey: I haven't finished the PSR500 thread on RR. Did you get your decode issue fixed?

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread...

They won't stretch that far, but since you're here it'll be taken care of.

We know why the Mong likes the midgets, Mong meat is just big enough for a midget.
