D-Star DD gateways require some real network faggotry that's best avoided if you can get away with it anyway.

So when is the 10 GHz backbone due to be released?

For the several grand per end they're asking, I don't see that many takers if it ever is released.

Well times have changed since I posted that, they are on the gateway now, and the repeater has moved to about three miles from work. They have also added a 1.2ghz data and voice repeater on the mountain.

Shit, they'll spend a few grand for yet another HF rig to talk to the old farts, so you never know who will spend the cash, or on what. See above reference the 1.2ghz network :baby:
I'll take a warm midget fart over a cold beer any day

No plans on implementing D Star in my mobile or shack. I'm not about to crawl into bed with Icom and
their sad selection of a few products when there must be well over a hundred or more commercial radios
that will do P-25/IMBE. Locally, we have a Quantar on 146.715 and a few dozen folks with Astro Spectras,
Astro Sabers, XTS2500, XTS3000 and XTS5000s.

Nobody. Till everyone who paid thousands prove it works for data and voice, and the government or Cell companies get wind of it.

Then we will be told to move on :)
