I will be going to at least the Mt Beacon one or possibly both. I'll be on the typical Batlabs and Hamsexy VHF IMBE channels.

I dunno if the drive to Binghamton will be worth it, but the other one is likely.JAYMZ wrote:Apr 23rd 2006

I guess we'll see what I have going on that weekend.
I will either take the day or call out for the Mt Beacon fest... I generally make the trip for that. I've never been to Binghamton or Elmira(was supposed to go last year, but was unable at the last minute) for the hamfests, so why not...

PJ and I made the trek in the pouring rain this morning.
I will say that the fest was almost a waste of $12 for admission for both of us. The following are the only pictures I was able to get. All I had was my phone, and I left my regular camera in the car. ARRL Hudson Division Director Frank Fallon was in attendance, standing around looking important. <shrug> The first picture features some poor kid announcing the door prizes... each number was read something like 30-40 times. And in the most annoying 10 year squeaky pre-pubescent voice the kid could manage. 2nd picture is self explanatory... his mother must be very proud of his chosen career.
And this is the only thing I saw that was remotely interesting... found 2 hours after we left the fest by Minnewaska State Park.

It is on my calendar... and I will most likely put in for time off after I get back from Dayton to make sure I am going to go.WA3RDM wrote:So the big question is are you gonna come see me in Owego ?
I can't pass up going there, it's so close to home, it probably
is the closest fest I get to excluding my own clubs fest.
