Gaithersburg Hamfest (FARFest 2006)
All right, I’m starting early (80 days from now)
49th Annual F.A.R.Fest (Gaithersburg) Hamfest
Saturday September 9 and Sunday September 10, 2006
Montgomery County Agricultural Center (Fairgrounds)
16 Chestnut St, Gaithersburg, MD
450+ tailgate spots, 70+ air conditioned vendor tables (with the ability to have a total of about 250)
Gates open at 0600 both days; Building opens at 0800 both days, until 1600 on Saturday and 1400 on Sunday.
Vendor tables are $30 for 1-5 tables and $28 for 6 or more if reserved and paid for by August 5, 2006, $35 for 1-5 tables and $33 for 6 or more after August 5, 2006.
Tailgate tickets are good for both days and include one (1) space approximately 10’ X 20” and one (1) admission good for both days. $18 per space/ticket before August 5, $20 after August 5 or at the gate.
General admission is $6 at the gate per day. Two day ticket can be purchased in advance only, for $10 and must be ordered/paid for by August 5, 2006.
Send me an e-mail if you want tickets.
Can any other hamsexual actually say they are in charge of a Hamfest?
Can any other hamsexual boast that they have other hamsexuals lined up to put a kick ass AM station on the air as the special event station again? (Thanks to John/W3JN)
Any and all ideas will be entertained, please stay tuned to this thread for more information and updates.

For the hamfest, as Seth said, give me another year to build it. This is our third year back at Gaithersburg after being at two different locations the five years before that.

You're both fools for turning down free LMR600, but okay. I think I'll waste it on a CB antenna or something..ka8ypy wrote:Don't worry about it, we have access to 500' of LMR-240, and will go larger if it presents itself.motorola_otaku wrote:Oh damnit, I forgot your LMR600. If I can find a box big enough to hold it, I'll get it in the mail.n3jfw wrote: I'll buy some feedline before then too.

Then use Gaithersburg, MD as a starting reference.kitn1mcc wrote:i may just go on travelocity
Other possibilites are Germantown, MD and Rockville, MD.
That pretty much covers the entire populated length of I-270 in Montgomery County MD. All within about 5-10 minutes from the hamfest.
BTW, hamfest location is about 15-20 minutes from Mongolian BBQ. I believe this were we are going to set up shop for the east coast bash Saturday night the 9th.
