The irlp.net website, the irlp.net email system (including installs), and the echo reflector are experiencing problems right now.

Since we don't know what the issue is, there is no ETA on when it will be working again.

There's nothing that exciting about IRLP boards. Some LEDs, an 8870 for DTMF decoding (which is fed to the parallel port I/O lines), and some logic-level stuff for PTT and Aux outputs from the parallel port I/O lines.

I just ID the RoIP radio on 2 meters as a repeater station, to use 2 meters and to cover my rear with regards to "content" repeated.

As long as you are using C4FM modulation, it shouldn't be an issue. Class C works.

Now, if you're driving an amplifier into compression, than you might have some issues. Wowbagger, speaketh!

I use DES-OFB on almost a daily basis. Sounds just like regular IMBE, too! I used to use XL, but it sounded so windy and grainy that I couldn't stand listening to it for too long.

edit: Oh, the 3011s come in 4 different revisions: AX, BX, CX, and DX. Only a DX will load Astro radios. A CX can be upgraded to a DX if you know someone with the firmware image and the ability to blow it to chips.

Is there an easy way to know if an "A" version has been upgraded? Mine has a ...

Yea, the displays are like ~$100 from Ma /\/\.

I had hammies 5 KHz up at a hamfest telling my over and over my radio was broken when I was transmitting P25. Heh. I think next time I'll turn off mixed mode so I don't have to hear the whining.

Since when did your FT-60 not have a low battery indicator? Mine has a flashing battery symbol, MTS2000 style.

The VX-6R is a DAMN nice radio. Honestly, I'm kicking myself for buying the FT60 so soon (I got it the day after it came out), I would much rather have waiting awhile and got the 6R.
