Re: P25 repeaters

I can see where you got confused - wowbagger mentioned a 19.2k sample rate on the raw unprocessed baseband audio. This gives a 4x oversample rate on the 4800 baud bitstream which is required for DSP work in order to be able to do clock recovery and error correction. The actual raw bit rate is 9600 ...

These chips from CML micros could be the basis for a simple P25 machine. Couple with with an atmel ATMega16 to run the show and bobs your uncle goto http://www.cmlmicro.com/products/index.asp?searchvalue=C4FM&setindex=true and click on the C4FM Modem function. ATmega16 can do SPI which is the b...

Re: Upgrading Astro Spectra's

I paid $250 for my Q split Astro Spectra Pluses.. $400 seems a bit steep for something you Yanks can't use unless you're the GUBMINT. He should pay me for taking them off my hands lawl. Having said that, they're 110W drawers, W9 heads, DES-XL and should be whored and upgraded... Remote cable, high-...

Re: Upgrading Astro Spectra's

Anyways, didn't you need higher than DSP 6.x to decode Soft IDs? Or was it better than Host 6... I forget which one it is. Haha, HOST 6 is down in VSELP range. I don't know what specific minimum version is required, but HOST 9 will do it.. my first UHF Astro Spectra ran that. $100US is plenty reaso...

Don't bother with the Daniels gear unless you have some serious coin. ISTR that a Daniels repeater runs about the same as a full Quantar setup, and you still need to buy all of the outboard RF parts and a 12V PSU/batteries. Yeah, I kinda figured that would be the case. Fuckin' shit gets priced righ...

Using the voice radio as a modem is pretty stupid (afaik, no one in this half of TX does that), but the rest of those issues are fixable. A 3-way console audio patch across all 3 disparate systems is plenty do-able with "tolerable" audio quality until they can get their digital coverage is...

A bit off? It will sound like total ass. Converted P25 fed back into an analog transmitter sounds bad enough, even when done through a console patch or interop device.

You're much better off building the transparent P25 repeater.
