Being that your radio has both trunking and FPP, you'll probably not want to touch it with anything newer than Astro25 CPS R09.xx or you run the risk of losing FPP capability. Now, in the past this was applicable to radios with trunking and only Q52. Honestly, yours is the first I've seen to have Q5...

This may be moot anyway - it's a very recently implemented system, they might be using ASKs, in which case we're boned - I'll just help them program their personal radio for the hammy sh*t. Is this by chance the system in question? Given that it's a full-on Astro25 9600 system and very, very new, I...

Also, the Houston GMRS crew are bringing their portable 70cm repeater. 441.525/no tone.

The on-site temp repeater will be on either 442.65 (123.0) or 441.525 (100.0). I'll be hanging out on Batlabs Green in the clear and on BW1.

I thought TRBO was in some sort of ETSI standard? "Based on some sort of ETSI standard" would be more appropriate. The TRBO implementation in current production is proprietary enough that anyone else wanting to make a radio for it would need to license it from Big M. In any event, DVSI ge...

To be fair, TRBO is also a 100% proprietary mode. TETRA would be fun to play with, but from what I understand it's very infrastructure-intensive and doesn't have a non-trunked repeater mode.. you get Network and DMO (direct) and that's it. P25 and D-Suck can at least be repeated with a couple of mod...

P25 might be fine when the feds are footing most of the costs but businesses don't need that shit. I see that argument made in a lot of places, but people seem to forget that P25 is scalable. A single-channel P25 conventional repeater system with low-tier subscriber units is no more "grandiose...
