It's already March.. no HamCom thread yet? (June 8-9)
Dinner plans and pictures will eventually go here, but in the meantime..
I look forward to having a Radioreference mod (burner) and an exiled Radioreference troll (Mong) in the same room at the same time.

I didn't troll that often, scannerfreak was the one who blew a fuse about me when I got the ban hammer.
I shall plan on being there, hopefully I'll be working fulltime again by then

Was planning on going, but I ended up owing a bunch of taxes this year. Might still make it, we'll see. burner50 promised me that he'd throw one hell of a party for everyone at his house.

Dinner don't cost that much.
Oh, I forget there is an actual hamfest. I just think of it as a dinner

Yep, I'm in and have my usual table.
Oh and the NT repeater is back on the air. Could it be P25 before hamcom? We'll see.

Seriously though, that's pretty much all I'd be excited about. I don't go to hamfests to buy stuff. The other expense would be fuel for the trip down. I figured it up, it would be $128.72 one-way, at current fuel prices. burner50 offered his floor for me for lodging, so that's a savings.

I thought "The dirty DeMo" was the nickname for a tranny part of Dallas and your 0-land callsign meant you were another dirty transplant

Got my vacation request back and I will be there Friday and Saturday.
Friday night dinner work for everyone again? That seemed to work better last year.

Wow. At that rate you'll get to tour Hearne and Houston before you make it back to the Big D.burner50 wrote:At this rate, I'm still gonna be getting fucked out here in Monahans, TX when it comes time for hamcom.

Houston is outside of my district, and I'm not qualified in hearne ;)

Been to San Antonio yet? It's almost as dirty as Houston.burner50 wrote:motorola_otaku wrote:Wow. And now it's looking like I might have a temp on-site repeater for real this year.. like, a 25W UHF Quantar. Will post back with frequencies and PL/NAC once it's a done deal.

SA is outside my district too...
OKC, Mcalester, Chickasha OK, down to Dallas, Ennis, and Hearne and over to Monahans / Pecos
I don't hold seniority in SA or Houston

I made sure I got both days off. I look forward to spending money foolishily at the swap meet. If anyone sees a 900 MHz HT, please let me know. I need Skywarn refresher too.
So are we using Jon's (NORTEL) repeater, besides the usual simplex freq?

Yes but I'm open to alternatives too. I know of another BBQ joint, fairly inexpensive, but no hotties.Mong wrote:Dinner at Bone Daddys?

Which one? I would assume Plano, but IIRC there is several of them.
Assuming that crew mismanagement lets me come back home.

I have no issues with the usual location, It's sorta a tradition and my wife don't mine the scantily clad chicks serving food (since we aren't eating at Big Bone Mama's).
burner50
The last two years we have eaten at the one at 8856 Spring Valley Road Dallas, TX 75240 (Richardson, sorta connected to the Micro Center computer place on 75).
Seeing as I am working Thursday 5pm-6:30am and Friday midnight-6:30am (I was able to get off 5pm-midnight) I'll not likely be at the actual hamfest again this year.
I am loosing seven hours of OT, plus the cost of a babysitter to have dinner with you goobers so I expect good stories and many jokes

I won't be taking any time off specifically for you goobers, as it simply costs too much money, but I'll be there if I happen to be available and not sleeping.
