HamCom 2015?

So the move to Irving has kind of thrown a wrench into the works. Bone Daddy's is now clear across the world as is the NT repeater. I was considering bringing the Quantar back but with the parking situation in kind of a flux I don't know that I'd be able to park someplace with enough room for a proper antenna. And since RVs are verboten my friends who used to post up under the water tower aren't coming back.

So I guess I'm looking for suggestions for a new Friday meetup spot, or if enough people will even be there to do it. I know I could ask on the Facebook group but those guys.

I've been here for five years and I'm still not sure where Irving is

I know it's on the other side of Dallas, but have no idea if it's near 20, 635, or somewhere in the middle. I could look it up but that's like thinking.

I can hit the actual hamfest on Saturday.

As for a dinner meetup, I got a new in-house job (Mon-Fri) in Feb plus my old job on Sat night and a 3rd job on Sunday night. I already have enough earned PTO to take Friday off, not sure if it's wise to do so yet.

You guys post up some plans so I can figure out what I can do.


I just looked at the parking info, pretty fucked up for a regional hamfest to not plan for overnight RV parking.

I did end up cross-posting this to the FB group and they had nothing constructive to add (as expected) so at this point I'm going with the usual location at the usual time for dinner. I will be in town for both days arriving late Thursday night, and unfortunately the portable Quantar didn't happen.

My full time job is switching to a new schedule (Pittman) That week So I'll be working 6p-6a Friday Saturday and Sunday.

If we started next week, I would have been off.... fuckers.....

I'm right across the street at the "preferred accommodations" so I'll see y'all in the morning. Will be monitoring the usual freqs (146.495, 151.88.) 7:00 PM at the usual location is the plan at this time.
