Richmond, VA Frostfest
Anyone in VA or nearby might want to go to the annual Frostfest at the Richmond Raceway Complex on Feb. 5, 2011. Usually a pretty good gathering and this year there'll be Yaesu, Icom, Alinco, Hilberling, Elecraft, Alpha Amplifiers, FlexRadio and a bunch of other lesser stuff.

I know it's long gone now but it was a pretty good show. Except someone took a shit outside the main entrance before we opened to the general public. Who does that? It wasn't some wild animal.

Are you sure it was shit and not a gift of Space Rocks™ left by some UT who may have been standing by?KG4INW wrote:I know it's long gone now but it was a pretty good show. Hamsexy is like peeing your pants.
Everyone can see it but only you feel its true warmth.
But then you get old and pee in your pants while wizzing around in you hamabout.

Ha! The rightfully irritated Richmond Raceway janitor on hand was pretty certain of what it was.
Re: Richmond, VA Frostfest
Damn, it's almost been a year and we'll be having the Frostfest again, this time Feb. 4, 2012 at the Richmond International Raceway complex.

Time to get my doorstep-shitting skills back up to par.

I think Dayton last year has the bragging rights on shit-on-shoes opportunities.

Definitely! I think I smelled that down here...
Re: Richmond, VA Frostfest
I gonna keep bumping this one instead of creating yet another thread but it's time again for Frostfest. This year, Feb. 2nd, still at the Richmond Raceway Complex. There's usually a gun show next door too (but admission is separate, of course).

Cool. I'll be guarding one of the doors then wandering around looking for deals. The RATS board is hoping for 2,500 attendees this year (had ~2,400 last year). Pre-show ticket sales have been strong.
Weather should be good this year too. Not as warm as it was two days ago, but I'll take sunshine any winter day.

Re: Richmond, VA Frostfest
Well, this year, the crap was moved to the sinks of the men's restroom. Yuck. Other than that, it turned out rather well. I got a couple fender mounts and one of my fellow VT alumni got a transverter setup.

Re: Richmond, VA Frostfest
Someone took a dump in the sink?
Re: Richmond, VA Frostfest
I'm not sure what happened but that restroom deteriorated fast. Good thing we volunteers had our own restroom in the other building.
This was the first time I didn't actually buy anything, but I'm OK with that. Really didn't see anything I had to have and spent most of my time hanging out with friends (once relieved of my duties[NO, I didn't shit in the sink!]).

I'm not sure, but it looked like that. I didn't bother asking, as ignorance is bliss.va3wxm wrote:Someone took a dump in the sink?

I'll bump it this year. Feb 7th, and no gun show.KG4INW wrote:I gonna keep bumping this one instead of creating yet another thread but it's time again for Frostfest. Re: Richmond, VA Frostfest
Right. Because the gun show is this weekend (31st and 1st), we've been able to get the main building all to ourselves. It's a little bigger and nicer than the others. Parking will be a lot easier too. I'll be selling tickets again at the door so I won't get to walk around until my shift ends in the afternoon.
Re: Richmond, VA Frostfest
I enjoyed it. Preliminary numbers show a record turnout and the nicer building was well, a lot nicer.
