Manassas, Va hamfest
Anyone going?
This is my club's yearly hamfest. It is also how I got into the hobby a year ago. I live nearby and saw the sign advertising it a weak prior. Doing a bit of research, I learned about the free testing, so I decided to study for the tech exam and give it a try. Obviously I passed. :)
It would be great if you guys could come out. Proceeds from the 'fest help fund various club activities, including the scholarships we give to area students.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Manassas, Va hamfest NEW DATE: June 8th
BTTT...
This year, we're holding the hamfest on the SECOND SUNDAY in June. That would be June 8th. Based on the responses we've been getting and the vendors who are buying spaces, this year's 'fest will be much better than last year's.
More information here: http://www.w4ovh.net/hamfest.htm
Or you can send me an email at [email protected]
Thanks,
Chris

Hmmmm, chalk me up for a maybe minus. The XYL is wanting to go to Williamsburg..... again.....
She says she likes Man Asses so she may actually come along for this sausage fest.

It's the end of our hobby as we know it and I feel fine.

Hot, humid, tailgate was only a 1/4 to 1/3 of what it normally is. On a good note, i walked away with 60' of 7/8 andrews hardline for free.whls3 wrote:Okay, no reports? I missed it due to arthritis! Don't get old. Was it any good?

Dude, nice snag! I didn't go either, entirely too much going on here and have been under the WX.

Saw the hardline too, but wasn't sure what I'd do with it. :)
The tailgate was slim (probably due to the heat), but the indoors spaces were mostly sold out, so we did well there. I bought 150' 300ohm window line and misc bits and pieces for various needs. The rest of the time, I was running around dealing with minor issues for vendors and such.
All in all, it was a successful event.

So long as the club made money, that's a good thing. Sorry FAR didn't take the club up on the table, maybe next year.ki4pot wrote:Saw the hardline too, but wasn't sure what I'd do with it. :)
